Marisa Metropoulos

“The highlights of my travel experiences include time in India—seeing the Taj Mahal, playing cricket, visiting an elephant sanctuary, and touring temples. I want to show my students the beauty of the world around them, whether it be in their own neighborhood or across the globe.”

Originally from Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, Marisa Metropoulos joined Valley School this past July as a Classroom Aide. She is also currently attending Saint Vincent College for her master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with K-12 Reading Specialist certification. She just obtained her undergraduate degree, also from Saint Vincent College, in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. She has loved coming to Valley School and meeting so many amazing young children who brighten her day. After experiencing India and working with impoverished children in the spring of 2019, Marisa was set on becoming a teacher who would make a difference, no matter the child’s background. In her spare time, she loves to travel—and would especially love to visit at least one country in every continent—as well as play sports, exercise, paint, and read. She also enjoys volunteering at various food banks around Westmoreland County.
