Michelle Smith
“I love to read—primarily fiction, but occasionally nonfiction, and always a physical book. If I enjoy the book, I almost always read it twice, though there are some I return to over and over again. I strived to instill the joy of reading in my kids, and I am thrilled they have inherited the habit of rereading as well!”

Michelle joined the Valley School Advancement team after more than a decade in the athletic footwear and apparel industry. As Senior Vice President of Global Sales and Marketing at the boutique brand SUPRA and the publicly-traded DC Shoes, Michelle’s focus was on brand strategic planning and targeted distribution. At Valley School, she utilizes skills she developed in her sales career to build relationships, establish and promote our culture of giving, and educate constituents about philanthropy. Her constant ambition is for her work to contribute to the long-term health of our school.
Michelle’s passion outside of school is holistic wellness. She is especially interested in mindfulness practices and their positive effects on corporate cultures, executive management, and individuals of all ages. She is a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, and loves to hike, snowboard, cook, and travel.
