Since our founding in 1946, Valley School has been committed to providing a balanced and strong program of study for a diverse group of children. Today, we uphold this commitment, awarding nearly one million dollars in tuition assistance annually. This school year, nearly 50 percent of our student body qualified for some level of tuition assistance.

A family’s ability to afford full tuition is not a deciding factor in our admissions process. Our strong tuition assistance program provides deserving students with the opportunity to access a high-quality Valley School education, while also providing the school with a well-qualified and diverse student body. Valley School encourages all families interested in independent school education to apply.

Sending a child to Valley School of Ligonier is an investment in their future, and we understand the sacrifices that families make in order to provide a Valley School education for their child.  We award financial aid on an annual basis in the form of a need-based grant that does not need to be repaid to the school. To assist in determining financial aid awards, Valley School partners with School & Student Services (SSS), a third-party processing company. SSS uses family size, income, and expenses to estimate the amount a family can contribute toward their child’s educational expenses.

Financial aid application information and deadlines are sent to new and current families in November.  Applications for financial aid are due to SSS by late January and awards are mailed to families in early March.  Financial aid applications made outside of this timeline are considered on a funds available basis.

Prospective and newly enrolled families should contact the Admissions Office for more information on the financial aid process, while currently enrolled families should reach out to the Business Office.
