Life at Valley School is busy and balanced.

Our students learn in an environment that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, and compassion. Because our goal is holistic education rooted in the Valley Core Values, a lot of learning happens outside our classrooms. Purposefully curated activities, experiences, events, and traditions enrich our students’ educational journey and push them to become their best selves.

  • Wisdom: Welcome, Learners

We know that each child has their own unique style of learning, and so Valley School’s curricula incorporate experiences that enable children to engage with new concepts and develop new skills in the ways that make the most sense for them. From traditional classroom instruction to outdoor exploration, and extracurricular activities to laboratory experiments, Valley School days are jam-packed with a wide array of learning opportunities for a wide array of kids.
  • Wellness: All About Balance

Learning can only happen when a child is physically and emotionally healthy. At Valley School, holistic wellbeing is emphasized through many aspects of each school day. Physical education and proper nutrition are well-established pillars of good health, but time spent outdoors, social-emotional learning programs, opportunities for creative expression, support services, and positive school culture all have benefits that promote wellness at Valley School, too.
  • Integrity: Doing the Right Thing

We want our students to grow to become empathetic young adults who feel empowered to use their talents to do good in the world. Starting in kindergarten, Valley School children are introduced to concepts integral to moral thought, such as empathy, community, and generosity. These notions become less abstract as the children exercise skills related to them through frequent real-world service work opportunities. At developmentally-appropriate levels, all Valley School children do good works for others. By the time they reach 8th grade, they have a breadth of volunteer experience, and independently assume responsibility for meeting service requirements via self-driven projects.
  • Community: People Make the Place

Valley School partners with families. Our approach to education is based in the belief that children who experience collaborative guidance from their families, teachers, and peers will grow to be and see themselves as capable. We aim to maintain a culture that encourages children to take risks, knowing that they have the support of their school community behind them. We are inspired as we watch a growth mindset become the bedrock upon which they achieve their full potential.
