Valley Core Values

Driven by the school’s mission, the Valley Core Values are designed to foster students’ character development skills. They provide focused direction and a common language for important initiatives, like the integration of social-emotional learning (SEL), throughout our academic and extracurricular programs. Meaningful conversations and developmentally-appropriate activities help students come to understand the importance of the Valley Core Values for our school community—and for themselves, personally. As teachers, administrators, and staff model behaviors in alignment with the Valley Core Values, students learn how they can embody these values through their actions, making for a better world for us all.

At Valley School, we are committed to seeking wisdom. We learn in a flexible, hands-on, intimate setting where the process of acquiring knowledge through individual pathways is equal to the content absorbed. It is our goal to encourage a growth mindset and to establish a community where stretching minds is the norm. In our pursuit of knowledge, we learn that the purposeful application of wisdom defines character.
