Debbie Broker

“One of the best parts of my job is that I am able to work with most of my music students from their earliest years through their final years at Valley School. I truly appreciate the unique opportunity to connect with them and share musical experiences—especially in their Upper School years.”
Music Teacher

At Valley School, Debbie teaches first through fourth-grade general music, woodwind lessons, and several Upper School electives. She encourages her students to listen musically, develop their singing voice, and move expressively to music.

Debbie received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education with a major in piano from Westminster College. She holds a Master of Education in Music from Penn State University.

Before coming to Valley School, Debbie taught kindergarten through sixth-grade general music and chorus in the Tyrone Area School District. She previously taught all grades of music at Valley School, and helped to implement the elective program, as well as the school musical.

Outside of Valley School, Debbie serves as the music director at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church in Monroeville. Her two daughters are alumnae of Valley School, and both are professional violinists. She lives in Penn Township with her music teacher husband and two black cats.
