Honors U.S. History

Honors U.S. History is an accelerated course designed to target skills that students will utilize in high school, college, careers, and civic life.
The course is available to 8th-grade students, and taught in order to provide enriched opportunities to practice and demonstrate skills such as collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. Students who apply for enrollment in this course must demonstrate a strong work ethic, the ability to consistently engage and share their voice during class discussions, and a willingness to advocate for additional opportunities for growth. While enrolled in this course, students are expected to take on a greater level of responsibility and independence outside of the classroom in order to maximize the value of their experience. Honors U.S. History is an excellent option for students who are seeking an accelerated curriculum that allows them to develop their research, writing, and verbal skills at the next level.
