Our talented 5th- and 6th- grade classes took to the stage last night for their Winter Concert, a two-part production featuring a festive orchestra repertoire and a debut musical theater performance. Instrumental numbers included the holiday classics Up on the Housetop and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, among others. This portion of the evening was followed bythe hilarious musical, A Year with Frog and Toad, the story of two best friends—cheerful Frog and apprehensive Toad—as they hop, sing, and dance their way through a year of adventures. As the seasons change from spring to winter and back to spring again, these beloved characters learn lessons about life and the importance of friendship. Multiple cast members shared the starring roles of Frog and Toad, and were supported by the musical talents of an assortment of colorful hopping, crawling, and flying woodland companions. Every member of our 5th and 6th grades participated in the musical, and the group was thrilled to host a standing-room-only crowd. The evening ended under the twinkling bulbs of Valley School’s inaugural Light-Up Night, which was complete with hot cocoa, kettle corn, and Christmas cookies. A very merry evening for all!
