Valley School of Ligonier recently held our annual Auction & Art Show on April 22, 2023 at Fort Ligonier. Guests gathered at the Fort’s Center for History Education with delicious cuisine and cocktails along with vibrant conversations surrounding the students’ beautiful visual artwork. Valley School parents, Annie Otto and Vicki Vittone, were wonderful co-chairs of the annual fundraising event.
All students from kindergarten through eighth-grade at Valley School contribute to the Art Show. A variety of art media, including drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, and more are represented. Proceeds from this event benefit our Arts Education Programs. Early engagement in the arts produces significant beneficial effects on students’ academic and social development, strengthens school culture, empowers students with a sense of purpose and ownership, and increases feelings of respect for others.
Rizzo’s Malabar Inn of Crabtree catered the tasty food, and Noble Stein beer was donated by Dr. Michael and Mrs. Vicki Vittone. Wandering Spirits, owned by Valley School parents Emily and Tyler Honhart, provided an Old Fashioned specialty cocktail for the evening. Generous donations to the Auction portion of the evening ranged from fun teacher experiences; sports, health, and wellness packages; children’s camp experiences; two Aventon e-bikes; paintings by local artists Bud Gibbons and Kathy Sobota; and the ever-famous Valley “Head of School” for a day experience.
On behalf of Valley School and our 2023 Auction & Art Show Committee, we want to thank all who attended the event and/or bid online for supporting Arts Education at Valley School of Ligonier!
